Watch!: During your star-making run as Summer Roberts on The O.C., you turned the expression “ewww!” into a national catchphrase. Fans will be psyched to know that within the first five minutes of Hart of Dixie, you “ewww!” again.
Rachel: Oh, yes—some people are associated with fashion, some with food, I have “ewww.” [Laughs.] When I first read the script I went, “Oh, no, here we go again.”

Watch!: You play Zoe Hart, an ambitious New York City doctor who reluctantly relocates to Alabama when she inherits a small-town practice. Tell us, what can a city girl teach a Southern belle?
Rachel: I think the question is, what can’t a city girl teach a Southern belle? Just kidding— I have family in Tennessee, and people from the South will kill me for saying that! I think the show will be a cool combination of city meets South—it’s got humor and it’s got heart. Uh, no pun intended there.

What are you looking forward to in Season 2?

Well, there's definitely going to be a lot of love-triangle action. Team George vs. Team Wade. So that's going to be fun to play with.

And now George has more of a chance, right?

Yes. George is single. So that leaves that option open, and it's going to be fun.

What are the sides of Zoe Hart that you're looking forward to playing?

She's really fun because she's true to herself, and she just is a mess. She's clumsy. I get to do a lot of the physical comedy this year. I fall a lot.

How do you practice for something like that?

You usually don't. You don't practice. You just go home, bruised, and that's that.

Were you pleased with how the ensemble came together and it wasn't all sitting on your shoulders?

Absolutely. Yeah, I loved that it is pretty well balanced, and there's a lot of characters. And I think it's awesome that there are great characters on the show. I think it’s fun to explore them all.

What did you learn from the first season that's going to make it easier on you the second time?

It's important to sleep on the weekend.

Are you more pro-George or pro-Wade?

I'm pretty neutral, I have to say.

What are the pros of each?

Wade's character is the fun, bad boy, and George's character is the more put together, responsible guy. So it's a little bit of both. I guess it's just personal preference.

Any new additions to the show that are going to pop in?

There's going to be some new characters, and that's going to be fun to play with, somebody from Lavon's past. That will be cool.
